LEWISTON — The Breast Health Program at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center is one of only four centers in Maine and only 40 breast centers in New England to receive accreditation from the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers.
Accreditation is given only to those centers that have voluntarily committed to provide the highest level of quality breast care. The center must undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance. During the survey process, the center must demonstrate compliance with standards established by the NAPBC for treating women who are diagnosed with breast disease.
St. Mary’s Breast Health Program is on the fourth floor of St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center at 93 Campus Ave. The Breast Health Program provides comprehensive education and treatment services for breast health care. The program offers a clinical, educational, psychosocial and personal resource for learning more about breast health and treating and living with breast cancer.
