Judson Cake left, of Bar Harbor and Matt Lunt right of Portland lead the pack out of the gate at the snowshoe race at Bradbury Mountain State Park in Pownal on Sunday. More than 40 racers from Maine and New Hampshire competed in the 3.5-mile course. The event was hosted by the Trail Monster Running Club. Cake ended up winning the men's race with a time of 28.52 minutes, while Danielle Triffitt of Topsham won the women's race with a time of 38.32 minutes. Sunday's event was the first in a three-race winter series held at Bradbury Mountain. The next race is scheduled for 11 a.m. Feb. 12.
