Police raid Lewiston apartment house

LEWISTON — Police and drug agents raided a home on College Street Friday night, arresting at least two people as part of an ongoing investigation into local drug trafficking.

Agents and Lewiston police officers swarmed an apartment at 57 College St. at about 6 p.m., executing a warrant to search the home.

Minutes later, several people were led out of the apartment and questioned by police. At least two were arrested and police said there may be more as their probe continues.

The raid took place in an apartment house next to Bedard's Pharmacy at the corner of College and Sabattus streets.

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency conducted the operation with the help of Lewiston police.

The names of those arrested were not released Friday night.
