LOWELL, Mass. — Backed by outstanding goaltending from Kyle Labbe and Jacob Smith, the Maine Renegades Peewee 2 team won two exciting games this past weekend.
Game one was a 6-1 victory over the Nashoba Grizzlies. Colby Anton's game winning goal with 1:35 remaining in the second period was the first goal of a five-goal outburst for the Rens. EZ Cormier led the way with a hat trick. Anton had two goals and Caden Smith added one. Collecting assists during the game were Tyler Marcoux, Casey Cloutier, Caden Smith (two), Thomas Levasseur (three), Cam Niven and Anton.
The nightcap was an exciting 2-1 victory over the Medford Mustangs. Anton was responsible for another game-winning goal with eight seconds left in the game. In what turned out to be a physical game, the Rens were able to stay focused and found a way to victory. Cormier scored the other goal in the game with an assist from Levasseur.
The Renegades are hosting Open House Program Skates with Adam Nicholas of Stride Envy on February 21, and March 6. Please check their web site www.mainerenegades.com for more details.
