NORRIDGEWOCK, Maine — Four men from Connecticut were arrested Sunday morning after police suspected they were going to rob a residence, according to Somerset County Sheriff’s Department Detective Lt. Carl E. Gottardi II.

Police received a report of suspicious persons at about 9:23 a.m. on Sunday on the Waterville Road along Route 139 in Norridgewock, Gottardi said in a statement.

Deputy Dave Cole located two males on foot and Fairfield Police Officer Shanna Blodgett tracked down a black 2010 Toyota Corolla with other two male subjects inside.

“During the investigation into the matter, it was discovered that the males had driven to Maine from Connecticut with the sole purpose to rob a residence that reportedly had marijuana plants growing inside,” said Gottardi in the statement.

Tools that could have been used in the commission of the alleged burglary were seized from the car.
