Girl Scouts, Waterford Rec team up for water program

WATERFORD — Girl Scouts of Maine in collaboration with Waterford Rec will offer a four-week program, "WOW! Wonders of Water," at Waterford Memorial School. Registration deadline is July 5. Space is limited.

The series is for all girls in grades K through five. Girls will learn about the water cycle through a "Green Tea for the Blue Planet," and enjoy making their own rainbows as they explore the precious resource of water.

Girls pledge to love water by protecting it, then team up to advocate for other people to save water, too. As they share what they have learned, they find they can inspire even more people to protect Earth's water.

Along the way, girls will experience what it is like to live in places where there is not enough water. They come to understand why the right to clean water is so important to everyone on Earth.

To register or for more information, contact Jeanie Duguay at 364-3639 or 1-888-922-4763, ext. 237, or jduguay@gsmaine.org.
