AUBURN — Skiers and snowboarders of all ages and abilities are invited for a day of family fun at the 18th annual Tom Magno Memorial Race Saturday, March 2, at Lost Valley. Tom Magno was an Edward Little High School ski racer in the class of 1967.
Auburn's Isabel Hayes with her grandfather Bob Hayes at last year's Tom Magno Memorial Race. This year's 18th annual race is set for Saturday, March 2, at Lost Valley, Auburn.
Registration is from 8:30 to 10 a.m. The race starts at 10:15 with two timed runs and a top racer shootout. The $15 entry fee includes a lift ticket from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be prizes, bib drawings and T-shirts. Proceeds benefit the Auburn Ski Association.
The Auburn Ski Association is a nonprofit organization that provides financial support for Alpine and Nordic race programs at Edward Little High School and Auburn Middle School, the Lost Valley Race Club, Central Maine Adaptive Skiing and a Nordic and alpine learn-to-ski program for elementary school students. ASA also provides scholarships and purchases equipment for area teams and clubs. ASA has been serving Auburn area families for more than 50 years.
