MONMOUTH — In a grassroots effort, with cans in stores and friends on Facebook, raffled quilts and alumni basketball games, home-baked pies and letters of help, a group called Families Helping Families is seeking donations to the Town of Monmouth Fuel Assistance for distribution to families in need of this assistance.
Winter’s not quite half over so during the next two months there will be events and happenings in Monmouth for the express purpose of helping the fuel assistance program for the town.
Donations can be sent to Town of Monmouth Fuel Assistance, PO Box 270, Monmouth, ME 04259.
Contact Darlene Sanborn at 933-2557 or Nancy Ludewig at 933-4677 or on Facebook . An alumni basketball game is being organized with the support of Mr. Amero, Monmouth Academy principal. Quilt raffle tickets are being sold at several Monmouth events. Donation cans are in various places in town. Volunteers are invited to help with this.
All money collected will be distributed by the Monmouth Town Office.
