Texas hold ’em

HARRISON — The Harrison Lions Club will hold a Texas hold’em tournament from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, at the VFW Hall, 176 Waterford Road. Mediumship talk

HARTFORD — Pinpoint of Light Spiritualist Center, Hartford Town Hall, 1190 Main St., will present "Mediumship, A Gift of the Spirit," throughout the month of February. On Feb. 5 at 10:30 a.m., the public is invited to explore and discuss mediumship in history. A medium is one is sensitive to vibrations from the spirit world. Socrates Cafe

WATERFORD — A Socrates Cafe gathering will be held at the Waterford Library on Monday, Feb. 6, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Meetings are held on the first Monday of each month. The group offers a forum to discuss current topics and ideas in a warm, friendly atmosphere, where divergent views will be welcome. The topic for the February meeting will be "Is The Earth Overpopulated With Humans?" The moderator will be Sally Chappell.
