Seniors to have Valentine meal

LIVERMORE FALLS — The Jay-Livermore Falls Seniors met at Murray Hall on Jan. 30 with 27 members present.

Chairwoman Shirley Couture opened the meeting with a prayer, salute to the flag and a moment of silence for departed members and for the men and women serving here and abroad.

Athanase Couture and Francis Therrien are on the sick list. Welcome back were several members who have been out for the last few weeks.

George Doiron, joined by the group, sang "Battle Hymn of the Republic." They also sang "Happy Birthday" to six members who celebrated birthdays in January.

It was noted the sound system has been repaired and is working well. Next week beano and other games will be played. The Valentine meal will be held on Monday, Feb. 13.

The 50/50 was won by Alice Demoras. Three door prizes donated by members were won by Carole Redman, Nancy Couture and Donna Cook.

Following the meeting, Gloria Bickford and Donna Cook served refreshments. At the meeting next week Blanche Bilodeau, Jean Luciano and Ellie Mitchell will be in charge of the refreshments. Games and cards were played.
