Telstar Girl Scouts looking for past members

PERU — The Telstar Service Unit of Girl Scouts is joining in the nationwide celebration of the Girl Scout 100th anniversary.

The unit will host a tea, which they hope will serve 100 Girl Scout alumni from the local area, on Sunday, May 6.

The unit has set up a dedicated email address, happy100gs@gmail.com, to collect photos to share and stories of how Girl Scouts has impacted a person's life.

The group is also looking for original memorabilia, such as handbooks or uniforms, to display at the event. Those responding are asked to include their full mailing address so the unit may send an invitation to the tea. For those who prefer, submissions may also be sent to Michelle De Roche-Johnson, 261 Dickvale Road, Peru, ME 04290; phone, 357-6487.

Girl Scouts of Maine provides services and support to over 16,000 girl and adult members statewide. It also gives opportunities for girls to get involved in their communities. For information on Girl Scouts or to volunteer, call 1-888-922-4763 or visit www.girlscoutsofmaine.org.
