Mountain Valley High School vice principal Christopher Decker announced the Students of the Term at the Rumford school. The freshman recipient was Samantha Higley. Nathan Fitzpatrick was chosen from the sophomore class. Junior Jeremie DeTellis and senior Rebecca Maifeld rounded out the students honored. The students received a MVHS T-shirt and a gift certificate for a movie and popcorn at Narrow Gauge Cinema. Every six weeks, teachers select a student from each class to honor. Decker explained, “The only requirement for the award is the student demonstrates good behavior and is doing admirably academically.” Students and staff applauded the award winners and their parents or family members joined the students on stage. Maifeld and DeTellis were not present due to their participation in the Mountain Valley Conference Ski Championship.
