OTISFIELD — The Oxford County Education Association - Retired announces the following recipients for the OCEA-R scholarships for the Class of 2012.
Sylvia Brooks from Fryeburg Academy plans to attend the University of Maine at Farmington to major in elementary education. She is the daughter of Rodney and Jessica Brooks of Lovell.
Adam Mahar from Telstar High School plans to attend Cornell University and major in history education. He is the son of Joseph Mahar and Anne Marie Mahar of Rumford.
Kaitlyn Rines from Buckfield Junior-Senior High School plans to attend the University of Maine at Farmington to major in elementary education. She is the daughter of Douglas and Faith Rines of Hartford.
Ian Vail from Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School plans to attend the University of Southern Maine to major in music education. He is the son of Kurt and Doreen Vail of Norway.
Each year the OCEA-R awards four scholarships in the amount of $500 each to four students who plan to enter the field of education.
