Bridge winners listed

LEWISTON — The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners at the Lewiston Armory on July 23 were as follows: first, Jan and Vern Arey; second, Jeanine Kivus and David Lock; third, Connie and Ron Reynolds; fourth/fifth tie, Richard Balian and Dick Allen with Scott Rivard and Jim Gray.

First in B, Connie and Ron Reynolds; second in B, first in C, Larry Fortier and Roger Labbe; third/fourth in B, Sue Kaluzynski and Donna Bartlett with Cynthia and Bill Clifford.

The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club winners on July 24 were: first, Tom Dahlberg and Mike True; second, Fred Letourneau and David Lock; third, Luke Merry and Mike Quinn; fourth, Jan Arey and Linda Leotsakos.

First in B, Larry Fortier and Roger Labbe; second, Nick Karaessinis and Bailey Geeslin.

The winners at Schooner Estates on July 25 were: first, Rosemarie Goodwin and Mike True; second, Sherry Hinckley and Fred Letourneau; third, Leslie Lord and David Lock.

Games are played at the Lewiston Armory every Monday and Tuesday at 9 a.m. and a partner is guaranteed. Call Rosemarie Goodwin at 754-1431 for more information. The next game at Schooner Estates will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15.

Socrates Cafe at library

WATERFORD — A Socrates Cafe gathering will be held at the Waterford Library on Monday, Aug. 6, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Meetings are held on the first Monday of each month. The group offers a forum to discuss current topics and ideas in a warm, friendly atmosphere, where divergent views will be welcome.

The topic for the August meeting will be “What Is Our Obligation To Others?” The moderator will be Jim Kearney.

Vintage linens, lunch Aug. 10

ALBANY — Albany Improvement Association will hold a Vintage Linens Lunch & Talk from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, at Albany Town House. Adults $5, children under 12, $2. Lunch will be sandwiches, fruits, veggies and desserts. Bring a vintage linen to share. Call for reservations, 824-2305.
