PARIS — During the past 10 years Central Maine Community College has offered the Courage to Grow award to very few select candidates. The award recognizes adult education students who have accomplished their educational goals while facing difficult situations. While most students would give up, recipients have shown courage and determination to complete their secondary education. CMCC recognizes this accomplishment by presenting recipients with a tuition free scholarship for one class to be taken at CMCC.
To acknowledge the 10th anniversary of the Courage to Grow award, staff at Oxford Hills/Buckfield Adult Education invited nine past award winners to their graduation ceremonies on May 31. Those in attendance were recognized on stage along with this year’s winner, Ashley Chapman of Norway.
