Field day at Fish & Game on Sept. 16

Wilton Fish & Game is preparing for a field day to be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, at the clubhouse on Route 2. This field day is an opportunity for adults and youths to learn the safe handling of firearms and how to shot and hit clay pigeons. Trap and cowboy categories will be shot in squads of up to five shooters; cost is $4 per shooter. Archery will also be $4 per shooter. All are welcome. Contact Charlie for the daily events at 645-4867. Eye and ear protection are required. Bring your own ammo, lead only. Trap/archery will run from 9 to 11:30, cowboy/archery from 12:30 to 4. A shooting gallery from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. will cost $5 for 10 rounds or $8 for 20. Beans, hot dogs, coleslaw, cornbread, apple pie and ice cream will be served by the Youth League from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., $8 per adult and $5 for ages 12 and under. WF&G meetings are held on the third Sunday of each month, except for September. Anyone interested in joining may contact Phil at 897-4305 or 897-3027.
