AFLCIO President Don Berry was the speaker at the Labor Recognition supper held on Sept. 28 at the Eagles Hall in Rumford sponsored by the Oxford County Democrats. Berry presented the Solidarity Award for 2012 from the United Steelworkers and Maine Labor Council to Sen. John Patrick and special recognition to Rep. Sheryl Briggs of Mexico, Rep. Matt Peterson of Rumford and Rep. Paul Gilbert of Jay. Former legislators Sen. Bruce Bryant of Dixfield, Rep. Roland Samson of Jay and Rep. Bob Duplessie of Andover, as well as Local 900 President Ron Hemingway, along with many union members and retirees, were present. Back row, from left, are Berry, Patrick, Briggs and Gilbert.
