Bridge Club winners named

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge Club winners of the Individual game at the Lewiston Armory on Dec. 3 were as follows: first, Dick Allen; second/third/fourth tie, Les Buzzell, David Lock and Luke Merry.

Winners of the regular game on Dec. 4 were: first, Jeanine Kivus and Fred Letourneau; second, Paul Sherman and Mike True; third, Cindy Kirchherr and Jim Krainin; fourth, Nancy Lindgren and Les Buzzell; first in B and C, Cindy Kirchherr and Jim Krainin; second in B, Marta Clements and Hazel Glazier.

Games are played every Monday and Tuesday at 9 a.m. in the Seniors’ Room at the Lewiston Armory, 615 Central Ave. A partner is always guaranteed. Call Rosemarie Goodwin at 754-1431 for more information.

Santa at VFW breakfast

HARRISON — The Harrison VFW Post, on the Waterford Road, will be holding its popular breakfast from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, at the post on Route 35.

The breakfast features scrambled eggs, French toast, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage, home fries, fruit cup, sweet breads, orange juice and beverage. Donations will be accepted. Santa will be at the breakfast.

Christmas Cantata at Union Church

LOCKE MILLS —  The annual Christmas Cantata, Night of the Father’s Love, will be performed at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, at the Locke Mills Union Church by a choir of community church members directed by Bev Melville. Refreshments following.

Library caroling, open house Dec. 16

WATERFORD — The traditional Waterford Library holiday community gathering will take place on Sunday, Dec. 16. The celebration will begin at 5 p.m. on the Waterford Common with candle-lit caroling.

Following the caroling everyone is invited to the library for refreshments and an opportunity to enjoy the company of neighbors and friends.

Children will have an opportunity for a visit with Santa and will receive a book as a gift. Everyone is invited.

Winter Concert at Telstar

BETHEL — Telstar’s Music Department will host its 15th annual Winter Concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, in the Helen Berry Auditorium. Welcome in the holiday season with the high school and middle school chorus and band.

Admission is free but donations are always welcome. Proceeds from the show will go towards student awards and music camp scholarships.
