Each year Kora Shriners in Lewiston sponsor an all-star football game with graduating seniors from all high school programs in Maine. The 23rd Maine Shrine Lobster Bowl Classic was held at Waterhouse Field in Biddeford. The players selected for the game are asked to raise money for Shriners Hospitals. Pictured is Illustrious Potentate Barry Gates presenting a check to the Child Life Department at the Boston Shriners hospital. Receiving the gift are Mary Jo Baryza, director of therapeutic services, and Stephanie Clark, music therapist and child life specialist. The funds will be used to purchase some critically needed therapeutic equipment, the first of which is a specially designed and equipped Wii system. The system has proven to help children with severely injured limbs to gain back mobility while having fun. The funds also will be used to purchase two desktop computers loaded with games. A matching check was given to Springfield Shriners Hospital Springfield for their use in transporting patients to and from the hospital.
