Chili Chowder Cook-off in Buckfield

The third annual Chili/Chowder Cook-off was held in October at Buckfield Jr./Sr. High School, put on by the Nezinscot Valley Music Boosters. Fifteen chilies and chowders were available for folks to taste and judge. Pictured, chili server Steve Perry of Sumner tests Rossie Kyllonen's seafood chowder, which won the chowder cook-off by popular vote. Chili winners were the The Henderson Family. Portland-based bluegrass band Tricky Britches performed.
