HCC offering flu shots

FARMINGTON — Flu shots are still available from the Healthy Community Coalition of Greater Franklin County by stopping by its office at 105 Mt. Blue Circle, Suite 1, which is one-fourth mile west of Franklin Memorial Hospital on Routes 2 and 4.

In a recent update, the Centers for Disease Control reports that the flu started early and the virus is spreading rapidly. It is especially important this year to get vaccinated as this year’s strain is particularly aggressive.

HCC office hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Anyone wanting a flu shot should call first to ensure that a nurse is available to administer the shot. Call Cheryl Moody, RN, at 779-2214.

There is a suggested donation of $20, or by donating what you can afford. Insurance, Medicare or Medicaid cannot be accepted.

Flu shots will be provided to individuals 18 and older. Those who are under the age of 18 should contact their primary care medical provider.
