The USM LAC Veterans Club held a flag raising ceremony on Dec. 7 to commemorate Pearl Harbor Day. Students, staff and faculty all took part. Pictured raising the flag, from left, are Nathan Platt from the VA at Togus, Eric Esty from the Veterans Center in Lewiston, professor Tara Coste, USM LAC and Veterans Club member Gabrielle Libby. The event was to show support for the fallen soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines who lost their lives at Pearl Harbor. The Veterans Club at USM LAC helps to connect its members with on-campus resources needed for college success and support these members as they transition from the military to civilian life. It also generates awareness of veterans on campus and serves as a voice for student members and veterans on campus.
