CLT to hold 'Spelling Bee' table reading

AUBURN — The Community Little Theater will host a table reading of "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" at noon Saturday, Feb. 4, at Great Falls Arts Center.

The one-act, musical comedy centers on a fictional spelling bee set in a typical middle school. Six quirky adolescents (who will be played by adults) compete in the bee, run by three equally quirky grown-ups.

An unusual aspect of the show is that four audience members are invited on-stage to compete in the spelling bee along with the six young characters.

Anyone interested in learning more about the show is invited to attend the reading.

Auditions for "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee," for actors 18 and older, will be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 13-14 at the arts center, 30 Academy St. The show will be produced April 20-29.
