LEWISTON — Stasia Minkowsky, a Lewiston native, will sign copies of her first nonfiction novel, "Skinny White Woman, on Wednesday, Feb. 22, at She Doesn't Like Guthries.

A self-reflective memoir about what it means to follow a modern-day spiritual path, “Skinny White Woman” is a raw and unrefined look at the human journey to find the spirit within.

With a background as a certified energy work practitioner, Minkowsky teaches metaphysics, meditation and Kundalini yoga through Lewiston Adult Ed. She has conducted hundreds of ceremonies across the nation, including baby blessings, coming-of-age ceremonies, crossing-over ceremonies, vision quests, sweat lodges, house blessings and sacred pipe ceremonies.

She has been a leader at women’s retreats, workshops (such as at the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing) and drug and alcohol recovery groups.

Her passion is for creating sacred spaces where people are inspired and uplifted to empower themselves.
