KINGFIELD —  As part of First Friday Art Walks, a dozen galleries, museums, shops and businesses will display art exhibits on March 2, with three venues featuring live music.

Jessie and Greg Boardman, a musical duo from Lewiston, will sing and perform folk music on March 2 as part of Kingfield's First Friday Art Walks series.

All events, between 5 and 8 p.m., are free.

Greg and Jessie Boardman, a duo from Lewiston, will bring folk music from New England and the Maritime Provinces to the Herbert Hotel. The two sing and play fiddle, viola, cello, guitar, whistle and pump organ. Greg, who performed at the 2010 Kingfield POPS with his sons, is founder of Maine Fiddle Camp, where he and Jessie are both on staff. He has been awarded a Traditional Arts Fellowship as a master fiddler by the Maine Arts Commission.

Singer-songwriter Mark Phillips, who plays tunes ranging from 1930s swing jazz to Mumford and Sons on his six- and 12-string guitars, will perform at Webster Hall, where the Kingfield Recreation Department’s Winter Carnival will take place. Phillips is a music teacher in SAD58 and MBRSD9.

The Herbert Hotel will show paintings by Saskia Reinholt. At Webster Hall, the Kingfield Recreation Department will display art from all ages and hold a photography and drawing contest.

Other offerings include the photographs of Jay's Pat Plante at CSM Real Estate, the work of 26 local artists and Maine-made lucid skis at the Reinholt Gallery, and KC Campbell at the Sugarloaf ski shop. Western Maine Pharmacy will present the work of photographer Scott Perry and Grand Central Station will feature drawings by Carrabassett Valley police officer Randy Walker and Kingfield's Dorrie Greta Robinson, along with works from woodworker Peter Dean Walen and stone artist Jim Albert.

At the Schoolhouse Gallery, at 6 p.m., Elizabeth Peavey will read from her new book, "Glorious Slow Going," co-written with Marguerite Robichaux. Paintings from the book will be on exhibit, as well as bird sculptures by Hugh Verrier of Eustis. Phineas Gage Project, an acoustic folk and funk band, will play after 6:45 p.m.

Other local artists will display work at Scent-sations, the Gallery at Mountain Village Farm B&B and the Stadler Gallery. Ongoing exhibits will be open to the public at The Ski Museum of Maine and The Stanley Museum.
