The annual Bach Festival, presented by White Mountain Musical Arts, will be held Aug. 24-26, with performances at Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center at Fryeburg Academy in Fryeburg. On Friday, there will be music by the Bridgton Bavarian Band; a minuet dance performed as it was in Bach’s day by students of the Tina Titzer School of Dance; a barbecue; and a visit from Herr Bach, aka musician Ray Cornils, whose goal is to "un-stuffify" Bach. "This is an opportunity for grandparents to share with their grandkids why they find Bach's music so inspirational," Cornils said. The 7:30 p.m. concert on Saturday will include works by Bach and fellow Baroque composers Corelli and Vivaldi. At 4 p.m. Sunday, the grand-finale concert will feature selections from Handel’s "Messiah." For tickets, call 935-9232 or visit www.mwvevents.com.
