UMF Concert Band will perform at Nordica

FARMINGTON —The UMF Concert Band, conducted by Anita Jerosch, will take the stage on Saturday, Nov. 17, in Nordica Auditorium on the University of Maine at Farmington campus.

The program includes three landmarks of the concert band literature: Gustav Holst’s “First Suite in E-flat,” William Schuman’s “Chester Overture” and John Barnes Chance’s “Variations on a Korean Folk Song.”

Dan Barrett, trombone instructor at the University of Maine, will be the soloist in an arrangement of Albinoni’s “Adagio” for trombone and woodwinds.

The second half of the program features the 15-member Maine Brass Guild, made up of brass instructors from colleges around the state, as well as several local professionals.

The concert will begin at 3 p.m. Admission is $6 for adults/$5 for seniors; children, free.
