Police from around the Franklin County rushed to the scene to back up the trooper and court officers.

Ronald Begin, 53, was in the courtroom on previous charges of misdemeanor criminal trespass and driving to endanger that occurred July 20, 2012, in New Sharon.

While in the courtroom, Begin was warned by a court marshal of disorderly conduct of being too loud, Sgt. Jeff Beach of the Maine State Police said.

Begin also had some words with a witness in his case, he said.

Begin then went to a meeting room with Trooper Aaron Turcotte, the arresting officer, and Assistant District Attorney Joshua Robbins, Beach said.

They were reviewing a video in the case against him, he said.

Begin started to get loud and began swearing at the trooper, Beach said.

Turcotte gave him a second warning of disorderly conduct.

When he didn't stop, Turcotte tried to place him under arrest, and Begin pushed him, Beach said.

Begin resisted arrest, he said.

A court officer came to help Turcotte put Begin under arrest, and a physical struggle ensued. Eventually, he was subdued, Beach said.

Begin was arrested on new misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct, refusing to submit to arrest and violation of condition of release, Beach said.

Begin was being held Thursday afternoon on $200 cash bail at the Franklin County Jail in Farmington.
