LIVERMORE FALLS — A Chesterville man faces theft charges after police say he stole a check and wrote it to himself for $400.
Ronald Joseph Davis II, 21, was charged Wednesday on a count of theft by unauthorized taking and a charge of theft by deceptions, Livermore Falls police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said Friday.
The theft occurred on Oct. 19, 2011.
A check was stolen from a Livermore Falls resident who is an acquaintance of Davis’, Steward said.
Davis was on probation on an unrelated matter when the theft occurred.
Davis was previously arrested in January 2009 after police say he stole a $6,000, 2003 Ski-Doo snowmobile from Spruce Mountain Ski Area in Jay and tried to sell it for $800.
Davis was also charged with breaking into the lodge at the ski slope at the time.
