WILTON — Two people were killed in a three-car crash on Route 2 near the Farmington town line Monday afternoon.

Meta Sevigny, 80, of Farmington, was killed in the crash, as was the male driver of a Chrysler sedan involved in the accident, Wilton police Chief Heidi Wilcox wrote in an email to Sun Journal reporters. The deceased driver's name was not released as of 9 p.m. Monday as police tried to notify his family.
The driver of the pickup, David Miller, 44, of Wilton, was injured in the crash and taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital.
Miller was later transferred to another hospital, a Franklin Memorial Hospital nursing supervisor said. He was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, according to Lewiston police. Miller's condition was not known as of 9 p.m. Monday.
Registration records show the Chrysler sedan belongs to a Livermore Falls resident.
Both vehicles were destroyed by the crash, which was reported at 3:58 p.m., Wilcox said.
A third car, driven by Thomas Lake, 50, of Jay, was also involved. Lake escaped injury, and his vehicle sustained only minor damage, Wilcox said.
Wilton and Farmington police and fire departments responded along with at least four ambulances.
Police moved traffic on to Route 133 in front of Franklin Memorial Hospital after the mishap and while fire, police and rescue crews responded to the crash. A line of traffic traveling west remained in place as emergency crews and police worked at the scene and dusk began to fall.
The roads were slippery at the time of the accident, Wilcox said, but she declined to release the cause of the crash Monday evening. The accident remains under investigation, she said.
The Franklin County Sheriff's Department reconstructed the accident as part of the investigation.
