Veterans to hold flags in front of memorial each Monday

JAY — A group of veterans will hold American flags high at the World War II Memorial in Chisholm Square on Mondays starting next week.

This is the fifth year veterans and community members will participate in the program.

“We will do this from May 7 until Veterans Day in sun, rain, snow, wind, heat, cold,” an organizer Don Simoneau said. The time is 8 to 9 a.m.

The program is an effort to show pride in America and support for those who are “keeping us free around the world in our military,” Simoneau said.

People are welcome to bring chairs to sit in.

“Please feel free to join us, we always have extra American flags for those who want to support us,” Simoneau said. “If you drive by please honk your horn in support. Or drop in and visit.”
