Teen charged with slashing tires

LIVERMORE FALLS —Police charged a 15-year-old local boy Monday night with slashing four tires on a parked vehicle on Foundry Road.

A woman was walking on the Foundry Road bike/pedestrian path and saw a boy running away from her vehicle, police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said. As she got closer to it, she saw all four tires were slashed, he said.

Police were given a description of the boy and police officer Robert Samson picked him up near Park and Cedar streets and charged him with criminal mischief. He was released to his guardians, Steward said.

A knife was recovered, he said.

The case will be sent to a juvenile case manager. The boy is scheduled to appear Aug. 6 in Juvenile Court in Lewiston.
