Man indicted in assault on Franklin County corrections officer

FARMINGTON — A Wilton man was indicted Wednesday on a charge he assaulted a Franklin County jail corrections officer Oct. 26, 2012.

Jonathan Nurse, 38, who is an inmate at the Somerset County Jail in Madison on an unrelated assault charge, was indicted on a felony charge of assault on an officer.

Nurse is accused of hitting the officer in the face with his hand while at the jail.

The inmate was maced by a corrections officer and put in a cell, Franklin County Sheriff Lt. Niles Yeaton said in October. Yeaton and Detective David St. Laurent assisted the officer.

The corrections officer, who had marks on her neck and had blood on her ear, drove herself to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington to be checked and returned to work, Yeaton said.

There is a solution, Jon

Anger is born of fear. Your fear is of your loss of freedom and is just a symptom. Accept what the judge says and look for the solution while you do your time if that's what he or she says.

The solution is between your ears and in your heart - not in your fists. Find others who've had the same problem and discovered the solution. It begins with the fact that you are powerless and ends with helping others.
