Wilton crash totals three vehicles

WILTON — A slippery road early Tuesday morning caused a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Main Street and Route 2 near the bowling alley.

The three vehicles were demolished, but no one was injured in the 6:30 a.m. accident, Wilton Sgt. Chad Abbott said.

Seth Neal, 33, Wilton, driving a 2012 Toyota Tundra, slid through the stop sign on Main Street. The road was slippery, due to the dusting of snow overnight, Abbott said.

Richard Corey, 44, of Industry was traveling west on Route 2 in a 2005 Dodge truck that struck Neal's Toyota as it slid onto Route 2.

Neal was able to move his vehicle off the road, but Corey's truck was disabled. It was then struck by a 2002 Hyundai, also heading west and driven by Richard Higgins, 57, of Wilton.

Wilton Fire Department helped at the scene, and NorthStar responded to the call.

Abbot reminded drivers that along with slippery roads to be cautious of deer.  The department has responded to about five deer-car accidents during the last week.  Deer seem to be more active, perhaps because of lighter levels of snow, he said.

Accident.

The town should of sanded the roads. That is a VERY bad intersection. It is time to put stop lights that work on that corner. I know this accident was because it was slippery but just saying.
