JAY – A Farmington man is accused of punching a woman in the eye while she was driving on Route 133 this week.
Christopher Walker, 34, was arrested on a felony charge of domestic violence assault on Tuesday, Jay Detective Richard Caton IV said. The charge was elevated due to a prior domestic assault, he said.
The woman was driving when they got into an argument and Walker punched her in the right eye, he said. She pulled the car over, he got out of the passenger seat and she called 911.
When police arrived, Caton interviewed her and officer Nicholas Gulliver interviewed Walker, who stayed at the scene, Caton said.
The woman was treated by NorthStar Emergency Medical Services personnel and released, he said.
Walker was taken to Franklin County jail in Farmington and released Wednesday after posting $2,500 cash bail. He is scheduled to appear in Franklin County Superior Court in Farmington on on June 28.
