LIVERMORE FALLS — The Town Office will close at 11 a.m. Friday to let office staff attend Freedom of Access Act training in New Gloucester.
Town Manager Kristal Flagg said John O’Donnell & Associates will conduct the meeting. The firm is the town’s assessing agent.
“There’s a fine line between FOAA and harassment,” Flagg said.
From what she is hearing, some people are asking for hours and hours worth of work to be done to get information available to the public, and it is not picked up, she said. No one minds getting the information, but when it takes hours of staff time and is not picked it is not right, she said.
There are fees after the first hour of employee work on gathering the information, she said. There are also fees for copies.
