This is in response to an article in the sports section, Jan. 24.
Boston Bruins goaltender Tim Thomas decided to be absent from the White House recognition of the Bruins winning the Stanley Cup and offered his reasons why. His absence was a great statement that our politicians are missing the boat on issues regarding this country and their way of governing this great country.
I applaud this super athlete.

He wasn't being honored, his team was. He boycotted the event for his own selfish reasons, not much of a team player, is he?
