There have been two recently published letters to the editor that responded to my letter of May 26. They both quoted me as writing things I did not write.
It is frustrating to have information that was factual responded to with misinformation that misquotes my original letter. For instance, readers who responded to my letter, in which I stated that there is no mention of homosexuality in the Gospels, used examples not from the Gospels.
I did not say there is no mention of homosexuality in the Bible. I said in the "Gospels" — meaning that Jesus had nothing to say about homosexuality or same-sex relationships.
Judith Taylor, Turner

when you write you have to
when you write you have to keep in mind your audience. in the case of sj readers or of the general public, most are going to be either non church going christians (except easter and christmas), atheists, or of non christian religions. a term or phrase that your church group can differentiate with can be confusing to those outside your group, in this case the Bible and the Gospels of Jesus, which are very related in peoples' minds, and are often used interchangeably. the same is true whenever you address any general assembly for any topic.

That there was no mention of 'Homosexuality' in the Gospels.
But a few others had an 'Agenda' - so had to go to the Epistles......
