B. Fraser: Respects human life

I take issue with Matthew Dyer's letter to the editor (Aug. 24) endorsing Larry Sirois' candidacy for House District 96. One of the reasons the writer gave for supporting Sirois is his stand in support of reproductive freedom.

On the other hand, he opposes Jeff Timberlake's candidacy because Timberlake is a commercial farmer who sprays his crops so that the public may enjoy pest-free fruits.

A child can be safely brought into the house when fields are sprayed. However, a child in the womb has no place to escape to when attacked with needles, vacuums and scalpels to end its life. I'm sure the child would rather take his chances in the field and would vote for life.

I will vote for Jeff Timberlake, who has respect for human life from the beginning to its end.

Bernice Fraser, Minot
