I appreciate current Rep. Sheryl Briggs' efforts in the State House. It is apparent by voting records that on more than one occasion she was willing to side with the majority on many bills. However, I was disappointed to see that she voted against LD1043, the state budget.
That bill, which passed, reforms the welfare system to require convicted drug felons to be drug tested as a condition of receiving welfare. That is the type of reform needed to streamline expenditures and not waste precious taxpayer money.
Voters need to put someone in the State House with a different point of view. If Lisa Keim is elected to Augusta, she will vote for desperately needed welfare reform and make sure the public's tax payments are used in the most efficient fashion.
