Two men assaulted Monday at Auburn CVS

AUBURN — Police arrested two men Monday night following an assault in the entryway of the CVS Pharmacy at Union and Court streets.

Auburn police Sgt. Laurie Woodhead said two men were assaulted Monday at 7:06 p.m. by two other men known to them. Both victims, whose names were not being released, were taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Both victims were hit in the head.

Police arrested Jesse McGehee, 31, and Joel McGehee, 29, both of 32 Washington St., a short time later. Both men were charged with aggravated assault, and Jesse McGehee was also charged with violating condition of release.

Woodhead released few details on the incident, which remained under investigation, other than to say all four men knew each other and that Monday's assault stemmed from an earlier situation. Police found a weapon believed to be used in the assault, but did not release the nature of the weapon.

Woodhead said the assault took place just inside the front doors of the CVS Pharmacy.
