Amber Waterman/Sun Journal

Patrick Dempsey poses for a photograph with Calgary, Canada, resident Heather Friesen and her son, Keland, 6, after Friesen completed a 2,500-mile ride for the 8th annual Cancervivie Peloton Project that ended in Lewiston on Friday in time for the start of the fourth annual Dempsey Challenge. This year's Cancervive Peloton Project included 40 riders cycling in shifts 24 hours per day. Each rider also sponsored a Warrior, a person fighting cancer, who flew to Maine to participate in events.
