LEWISTON — Police arrested a man in the Lewiston Middle School parking lot and charged him with selling cocaine Monday afternoon.

Maine State Police spokesman Steve McCausland said in a release Tuesday that Maine Drug Enforcement Agency agents and Lewiston police approached a car in the parking lot and found more than $700 in cocaine packaged for sale on Reynard Eugene Carroll, 29.
McCausland said Carroll admitted to selling drugs and indicated there was more cocaine at his 213 Webster St. home. After a search there, agents seized more than two ounces of cocaine in total with a street value of $5,500 and $1,000 in cash.
Carroll was charged with two counts of aggravated trafficking in cocaine in a school zone. Carroll's girlfriend, 19-year-old Shelby L. Viles, who lives with him, was charged with one count of aggravated trafficking in cocaine.
MDEA Supervisor Matt Cashman said the names of three other people in the car with Carroll have been forwarded to the District Attorney's office for possible charges.
Police had received a tip that a vehicle would be in the lot at about 4:30 p.m. Cashman said Carroll was not selling to school kids. He called the amount of cocaine seized "sizable."
"It's part of our ongoing effort," Cashman said. "We're focusing on the downtown Lewiston-Auburn areas, we're trying to be as proactive as possible."
LMS Principal Shawn Chabot said the incident didn't involve any students, parents or staff. "It happened in an opportunistic location."

I hape this person gets more than a slap on the wrist for his actions, as many that perform these same actions do. He definately needs to be punished to the fullest extent of the law. Not just a slap on the wrist and told not to do it again as many are told. You and I both know it will be happening again.
