SABATTUS — A local man was listed in good condition at a Lewiston hospital Monday with injuries from a car crash Sunday evening at Routes 126 and 9.
Marc Tremblay was pulled from his wrecked Honda Civic after the collision that involved a Chevrolet Tahoe SUV driven by Sarah Gurney of Greene, Sabattus Police Chief Anthony Ward said Monday.
Central Maine Medical Center listed Tremblay's condition as good Monday. Gurney's SUV carried three passengers, an adult and two infants. None of them were taken to the hospital.
Tremblay was heading west on Route 126 and Gurney was going north on Route 9 when their vehicles collided. Their vehicles struck nose-to-nose at a 90-degree angle, he said.
Tremblay's Honda landed on the lawn of Our Lady of the Rosary Church. To free Tremblay from the car, rescue crews used the Jaws of Life and a saw.
Apparently one of them failed to heed the intersection's traffic light, Ward said.
"It appears that someone is going to be cited," Ward said.
Both vehicles appear to be totaled, Ward said.
