LISBON — Police apprehended two Brunswick men Tuesday in connection with a residential burglary on Ferry Road.
Darren Callahan, 21, and Adrian Reyes, 23, of Bow Street, Brunswick, were arrested shortly after noon Tuesday and charged with one count of burglary and one count of theft each.
They were booked at the Androscoggin County Jail and released on $300 cash bail.
According to Lisbon Detective Bill Tapley, the homeowner returned to her house to find two men leaving. They said they were at the wrong address and quickly left.
When she entered her home moments later, she found it had been ransacked. She called police and, as she knew her husband was on his way home, she called him with descriptions of the intruders.
Police, with the aid of the homeowners, located the men's vehicle and they were arrested at Woodside Apartments on Route 196.
During the course of the investigation, police recovered a number of stolen items valued in excess of $1,000 in their car, including jewelry, coins, a computer, electronics, a laptop and an iPod.
It was determined that some of the items recovered were taken in two separate residential burglaries on Country Lane in Durham.
Tapley urged residents to remember to lock their doors when they leave home and look out for neighbors’ homes while they are absent.
“Please call police if you see anything unusual or suspicious. It’s better to be safe than sorry,” he added.
