Sixty new police officers will soon begin patrolling Maine streets after the latest round of graduations from the Maine Criminal Justice Academy in Vassalboro on Friday. Among the graduates are cops who will join area forces in towns, including Norway, Auburn, Lewiston, Lisbon and Turner.
At the graduation ceremony, Brian MacMaster, head of the Attorney General's Office Criminal Investigation Division, told the new recruits: "Always be mindful of the profound effect that you exert on individual lives, and why such responsibilities can only be entrusted to persons of the highest integrity and character.”
Graduating officers include:
Auburn Police Department: Mitchel Morse
Lewiston Police Department: Magan Blais, Dominic Cloutier, Ryan Richardson and Zachary Provost
Norway Police Department: Robert Federico
Maine State Police: Erin Ball, Lisbon, Thomas Bureau, Litchfield, and Desiree Wuthenow, Turner

We salute you , new recruits . Thirty hours of boredom and then thirty seconds of terror
You are entering a thankless job as a servant of the public , many of whom you will meet by accident and who will be drunk and belligerant . Then there's the wise guys , pedophiles , spouse beaters and other dumb motor vehicle drivers . Careful checking licenses . That's how most police men and women get killed . They get hit by cars . Other than that , we wish you , other first reponders , the E M S , and firemen and women good health and happiness in your chosen profession . You keep us safe and sound . /s Steve , former police trainer in Micronesia . .
