Lewiston firefighters climb for a cure

Climbing for a Cause
Russ Dillingham/Sun Journal

Lewiston firefighter Bob Cailler, far right, and members of the Lewiston Fire Department Stair Climb Team run up the stairs at the Lincoln Street Parking Garage on Tuesday for a practice session. Nearly a dozen members of LFD and other local departments make up the team that will travel to Boston on Feb. 2 to participate in the Fight for Air Climb. It's a fundraiser by the American Lung Association at One Boston Place in Boston. More than 70 teams from fire departments nationwide will participate in climbing 41 floors/82 flights/789 stairs in a timed event. A fundraising party will be held at Firehouse Grille in Auburn on Wednesday, Jan. 30, with proceeds going to the lung association. T-shirts will be on sale and will be available anytime by calling Bridget Cailler at 782-4104. To watch a video from the practice, visit: sunjournal.com/stairs011513.
