PORTLAND — The CEO of the American Hockey League team in Portland has pleaded guilty to drunken driving after crashing his Jeep onto a barrier near the Cumberland County Civic Center, where the Portland Pirates play.
Police said Brian Petrovek's blood-alcohol level was three times the limit for driving when they found him revving his engine and trying to get his vehicle unstuck early on Dec. 5.
Under an agreement with prosecutors, the Yarmouth resident was ordered Friday to serve 72 hours in an out-of-jail program for first offenders. He also was fined $750 and will lose his license for 90 days.
The Portland Press Herald (http://bit.ly/14hkHvd ) said Petrovek's blood-alcohol level was 0.25 percent, three times greater than the legal limit of 0.08 percent. He had no previous driving infractions.
