PARIS — Andrew Fleming and Luke Davidson each posted double-doubles as Oxford Hills defeated Mt. Ararat, 57-48, in boys’ basketball action Monday.
Fleming (13 points, 10 rebounds) and Davidson (11 points, 10 rebounds) controlled the boards for the Vikings (5-8), while Jake Plummer led the scoring with 14 points. Shyheim Ulrickson led the Eagles (5-8) with 14 points, while Mason Griffin added 12 points.
Gray-NG 61,
Freeport 56
FREEPORT — Sam Johnson came through with some clutch free throws and scored 12 of his 14 points in the fourth quarter to lead Gray-New Gloucester to a 61-56 win over Freeport.
Johnson made six of eight free throw attempts down the stretch to help the Patriots ice the game. Andreas Kariotis was the top scorer for Gray-New Gloucester (3-9) with 15 points, while Tyler Credit added 11 points.
Chandler Birmingham scored a game-high 17 points while Jake Davenport chipped in with 15 points for Freeport (1-11).
Lewiston 66,
Erskine 47
SOUTH CHINA — Donne Agossou ignited a 26-9 run in the second quarter as Lewiston raced away to notch a 66-47 win over Erskine in KVAC boys’ action Monday.
Agossou finished with 12 points for the Blue Devils (8-5), including six in that big second frame.
Josh Thomas led the squad with 13 points, while Isaiah Harris and Quintarian Brown each added 10.
The Eagles (1-12) were paced by Caleb McGuire with a game-high 22 points.
Brewer 80, Mt. Blue 49
BREWER — Brewer built a 43-26 lead in the first half and cruised home to a 80-49 romp over Mt. Blue.
Brendan Newcomb led the Witches with 15 points, while Ian Burgess chipped in with 13. Zack Gulesian and Matt Pushard also contributed with 10 points apiece.
The Cougars were paced by Drew Parsons with a solid 12-point effort, while Charlie Martin chipped in with nine.
Boothbay 61,
Lisbon 51
LISBON — Boothbay went on a 23-9 tear in the third frame and pulled away to record a 61-51 win over Lisbon in more MVC boy’s basketball action Monday.
John Hepburn led the powerful Seahawks (12-1) with 32 points.
The Greyhounds (2-11) were paced by Tucker Brannon and Mason Hayley with 14 points apiece, while Kyle Bourget chipped in with nine.
Monmouth 45,
St. Dom’s 36
MONMOUTH — Monmouth put up 15 points in overtime Monday to record a 45-36 win over St. Dom’s in another local boy’s hoops tilt.
Brandon Goff led the Mustangs (6-7) with 13 points, while Brett Wilson chipped in with eight.
The Saints (5-8) were paced by veteran Mike Bryant with a game-hig 15 points, while Nick Hatfield tallied nine .
Spruce Mountain 53, Madison 45
JAY — Tyler Kachnovich and Deonte Ring hit for 13 points each to lead Spruce Mountain to a 53-45 victory over Madison.
Kachnovich also hauled in eight rebounds for the Phoenix (9-4). Dylan Price scored a game-high 25 points for Madison.
Dirigo 65,
Mt. Abram 35
DIXFIELD — Travis Frost ignited a 22-6 run in the third quarter as Dirigo pulled away from Mt. Abram and went on to post a 65-35 win.
Frost finished with 16 points for the Cougars (13-0), including six in that key third frame. Riley Robinson chipped in with 15 points, while Hunter Ross added 11. The Roadrunners (6-7) were paced by Ian James with 14 points.
