FARMINGTON —  Miranda Nicely scored 13 points and Mt. Blue shut down Brewer in overtime to pull out a 48-42 win in KVAC girls’ basketball action Monday.
The Cougars outscored the Witches, 8-2, in the extra sessions, getting most of their production from the free throw line. Gabby Foy added 10 points for the Cougars (9-4), while Amy Hilton (three points, 10 assists) and Mackenzie Conlogue (eight points, nine rebounds) also contributed. Alexa Grindle led Brewer (6-7) with 13 points.
Spruce Mountain 50, Madison 48
JAY —  Emily Keene and Nicole Hamblin led a 16-12 third quarter run that allowed Spruce Mountain to keep its streak alive and squeak out a 50-48 victory over Madison Monday afternoon.
Keene led the Phoenix (13-0) with 17 points, including six in that  third frame. Hamblin chipped in with 11 points and five assists, while Ladesta Tracy and Samantha Richards each added six points.
The Bulldogs (11-3) were paced by Sam Bruce with a game-high 22 points. Bronte Elias chipped in with nine points, while Cristie Vicneire added eight.
Gray-NG 52,
Freeport 39
GRAY —  After sprinting out to a seven-point lead in the first quarter, Gray-New Gloucester raced away to post a 52-39 victory over Freeport in a WMC girls’ tilt Monday.
Haylee Cote led the Patriots (10-2) with 20 points, highlighted by six shots from beyond the arc. Mariah Valente chipped in with 11 points, while Meagan Deherte added five.
Freeport was paced by Aubrey Pennell with 12 points.

Edward Little 59
AUGUSTA — Josie Lee poured in 26 points and Emily Quirion added 21 more as Cony returned the favor, avenging an early-season loss to Edward Little with a 60-59 win over the Red Eddies on Monday.
Ashlee Arnold led EL with 19 points, including four 3-pointers, while Kory Norcross chipped in with 13 and Brooke Reynolds added 10.
